Win a MobiCam Digital DL video baby monitor

I have always wanted a video monitor. I mean, who doesn't? No more slowly opening creaking doors to check on the baby. No more prematurely opening the door to see if baby is down for a nap, just to wake up the almost sleeping sweetie. This would be a huge lifesaver!

Win a Diono Radian

It's been ages since I've logged on, but I wanted to share that there is a give away going on, and it's for a Diono carseat. These carseats are awesome, and I've been drooling over them since I've discovered them. They rear face from 4-45 lbs, forward face from 20-80 lbs, and it boosters until 57" and 120 lbs. Seriously, amazing.

Enter, it's easy to do!

Pics of Miss Ava

Again, for Elana ;)

I'm on DH's computer, and there aren't a ton of pics of the kids on here, but there are enough.

Ava's birth story, just for you Elana. :)

I copied and pasted this off of my myspace blog.

All day Sunday on May 31st, I felt super crampy with a punch of pelvic pressure all day, and I just hurt all around. We went to my grandma's birthday party, and got home at around 7:30 that night. I was sitting on the couch, and I went to stand up, and I felt a nice warm gush. My water had broke! That was at 10 to 8. Leonard didn't believe me, ha ha. But there was no doubting it when it kept gushing. So Leonard called my mom to come and get Matt on her way home, and I started to finish packing his and my over night bags. Contractions hadn't started up yet, and I remember that it took them an hour after my water broke with Matt for them to start up. So I called the hospital about an hour after my water had broke, and let them know, and also that I still wasn't having any contractions. I took a shower, and the hospital called back saying that I tested positive for Group B Strep, and that I needed to come in and get antibiotics. So we headed in and got to the hospital at around 10 pm. They didn't check to see how dilated I was or anything, and just started my on antibiotics through an IV. It takes 8 hrs for it to go through. Contractions STILL hadn't started. I was still gushing water, and I was starting to bleed, so it was obvious that I was going to have a baby soon. Apparently, I was having contractions every 2-5 minutes apart, I just wasn't feeling them. I didn't sleep all night, and since my contractions still hadn't started (they wanted ones that I could feel, which wasn't happening), at 7 am they started pitocin. The nurse kept coming in every 1/2 hr and was upping the dose of pitocin, but I still wasn't feeling/having any contractions. Finally at 10 she came in and asked if I was feeling anything at all, and I said no. I was at a zero on a scale of 1-10 for pain. She left. About 10 minutes later, I felt two pops, and I had my first super painful contractions. I don't know what the pops were, but oh my they hurt! It's funny because Leonard was just putting his coat on to go home and get some sleep. Good thing he didn't leave yet. I immediately called the nurse in and told her I wanted drugs NOW. I also really had to go to the bathroom, and I was having a ton of rectal pressure. She told me I could pee, but not do anything else until she checked me in case I was feeling baby related rectal pressure. I didn't want to have that baby in the toilet, lol. So I peed, and I started to get really shaky, so I knew I was in transition, and that this baby was coming soon. The nurse checked me, and I was at an 8. She hurried and called my Dr, and 5 minutes later she showed up and checked me again. I was at a 10 and ready to push! All the while contractions were kicking my ass and were right on top of the other. I was only in labor that I could feel for 20 minutes. Not too shabby! Her head was only at +1 station, so still pretty high. The nurse gave me some Stadol in my IV, just to take the edge off of the contractions, since the anesthesiologist was in surgery and couldn't come yet. All it did was make me see double, and feel like a very very alert drunk. So I pushed for awhile and I started to wimp out. I felt like I was being torn in two and was having horrible horrible back labor. It wasn't that bad with Matt. I only pushed for 20 minutes with him, and I pushed for an hour with Ava, just because I kept quitting. I feel like such a baby now, but at the time, I just couldn't do it. She finally crowned, and I delivered her head. I guess she had the cord wrapped around her neck once. Then I gave one more push and the rest of her came sliding out at 11:49 am. Just as her head came out, the anesthesiologist came in, but oh well. So I did it w/o any drugs, since I'm not counting the Stadol since it didn't do anything at all.

So, Ava Marie was born at 11:49 am on the 1st. She was 7 lbs 4.9 oz and was 19.5" long. Her head was 13" in diameter.

Oh, and the nurse thought I might be pre-eclamptic because my feet and legs were so so swollen, and only had just swelled up the night before. And my BP was really high. The highest reading was 198/85 at one point. But no protein in my urine, so I wasn't pre-eclamptic. Just super swollen and super high BP.

There you go Elana. I'm not on my computer, so when I get home, I'll upload pics of her so you can see.

Getting closer!

I'm officially 36 weeks (and one day, lol)! I can't believe that in a matter of a few short weeks I'm going to have a new, sweet precious baby again. I'm so excited to meet my little girl and dress her up in all the clothes I've gotten her. I've started to take EPO (evening primrose oil) to help soften things up. I started it around this time with Matt, and he was born at 37.5 weeks, and my l&d with him was only 5 hrs long. I'm hoping for the same results. :) And, I'm hoping for some progress at my next appointment, which is on Monday.

I also had to get rid of my beloved dog last Thursday night. Jack, my Blue Heeler. He's been so great with Matt, that it was a totally unexpected thing. I was talking on the phone with my mom, and Matt was standing next to Jack. Out of the corner of my eye, I see Jack whip his head around and kind of growl and wip and then nip out at Matt. He didn't get Matt at all, thank the Lord. But that was it. I couldn't risk it. So my mom and dad took him. I'm just thankful that Leonard was out of town at the time, or Jack would have been put down right on the spot. Jack is a great dog, just not a great kids dog apparently. The good thing is is that my dad actually wanted him, and they can easily separate him from Matt when Matt comes over. They have a basement, so they can just put Jack in the basement. And no other kids go over to their house. I'm sad, and I miss my dog. But I'm glad I was able to give him life. And I can go visit him. But, it's better this way. Especially now that we'll have two kiddos to look out for in the very near future.

Hmmm, what else has been happening? My little brother and his wife are expecting their first. When I found out, I'll be honest, I wasn't too incredibly excited about it. They've only been married for a year, and they only dated for a month before they got hitched when they were 19. And the reason for wanted to get pregnant? SIL wanted to get pregnant before her 17 yr old sister. What a reason to get pregnant, right? They live in Utah, so the closest family that they have is her family, and they are in Idaho Falls. And all of my brothers family is in Montana. I'm just worried that they get a really tough baby with colic and have no help or breaks. They need to do a ton of growing up still, and I just hope that they can get it together before the baby comes. I'm ok with it now, and hope the best for them. I'm just worried, that's all.

Our couches are here!

They are lovely, and are so worth every penny that we spent on them. When the delivery guys brought the first piece into the house, Matt was all excited and just had to sit on it, and run back and forth on it. He has a hard time getting up on the couches, because the leather is slippery when he has pants and socks on, and he can't get good traction. So he gets pissed and wants you to put him up on the couch. I'll have to get pics up, but first I need to remember to take them. :)

Other news:

I have to go to the Dr every two weeks now for appointments. Where in the hell did the time go? I still have to take my GD test. I'll do that on Monday before my appointment. And I'm 30.5 weeks! Time has literally flown by. But, at least I know the sex of the baby, so I can start getting prepared clothes wise. I actually had a celebratory shopping spree on Gymboree and Childrens Place websites, and spent way too much money. But hey, the girls clothes are so cute, I couldn't help myself. :)
My lovely husband will be able to stay home for a couple of weeks! This will be the last weekend that we have to say goodbye to each other for awhile. It'll be so nice to have him home finally.

Finally!

We have this old, nasty green couch that was a multiple hand me down. It was Leonards sisters SIL's first, then it went to his sister, then it went to us. So it's pretty beat up and, well, old. We had to give away the loveseat when me moved back home from moving to another city a year and a half ago. So we're dealing with a couch right now. No recliner, no nothing. Well, during President's Day, we went to Ashley Furniture and decided we were sick and tired of our old nasty green couch, and we bought a lovely reclining leather set. The furniture was 4-7 weeks out though, so we were told to not expect it until then. I finally got a call last week from the lady that sold us our new couches, and we scheduled a day to deliver the new set. They will be here tomorrow! I'm so excited to get rid of the nasty green couch. It will be so awesome to be able to have a place for people to sit when they come over, and for when Leonard is home, he can be a couch hog all he wants; since I can go sit on the other couch! I'll have to post pics of them when they get here, and we get the old nasty green one out.

And the sex of the baby is....

Photobucket

You guessed it, GIRL! I'm so excited that I'm blessed with one of each. I would have been happy with another boy, but since we're done after this baby, it's great that I get to experience the best of both worlds.

The ultrasound went great, she looks so good, and has grown so much since my 20 week u/s. There was no sign of cleft palate, since her jaw looked really good. Not recessed at all, like Matt's.

I went shopping online at Gymboree and Childrens Place to celebrate a healthy girl baby, and spent way too much money. But I couldn't contain myself, lol.

Finally have an u/s date!

This is what I've been waiting for. Another chance to get a gender shot of the baby! And of course, to make sure that there is no placenta previa, and to check the facial structure of the baby. I have the u/s schedulded for this comming Tuesday at 1 pm MT. I'm so excited! I can't believe that I've waited 2 months to have this u/s scheduled. At least it's less than a week away, right?

I also had my 28 wk appt yestarday. Can you believe that I have to go every 2 weeks now? Time went by so so fast. My BP was up. It was 136/78. Not fantastic at all. Last appt it was 118/38 I think. So it's gone up a bit. I'm worried that I'm going to start having BP issues like I did with Matt. That means I'll have to do bedrest. How in the heck is that going to happen with an active toddler, and a husband who works out of state? Hopefully it won't come down to that. So for now, I have to rest whenever I get a chance. Which means when Matt is sleeping, lol. I park my butt on the couch as often as possible as it is. I don't know how much more resting I can do. I'm starting to get really swollen too. Especially in my legs, feet and fingers. It's almost to the point where I can't wear my wedding rings anymore. *sigh* Oh well, it's all worth it in the end, right?

Time for an update!

It's been a few weeks, hasn't it? So it's time for some updates!

We have moved into a new house! It's actually Leonard's sister's house, but we're trying to buy it, and they had to move across the state. So for now, we're renting with the hopes of buying or even just taking over their payments. It's so much more spacious than our dinky little apartment that we were in. I'm definitely enjoying the room! We were so outgrowing our last house. And now with a baby coming in a few months, we really needed the room! I'm almost totally done unpacking. There are just a few boxes left, and pictures need to go on the walls and what not. I'm slowly but surely getting there. Matt is also loving all the room. He runs from room to room, and his favorite game is chase. I'll chase him, or he'll chase me and I'll hide and jump out at him and yell Boo! He loves it! I have no problems getting him to sleep at night anymore. He's out in less than 5 minutes most of the time. It used to take 1 hr to get him to be asleep. He's a much happier kid now too. He doesn't wine as much, which I of course love.

I'm still doing the married single mom thing. It sucks, but at least I can handle it pretty well. Matt and I have our days here and there, but overall it's not too bad. It helps that I'm not working full time also. Hopefully Leonard will be in the area at the end of March. I just really want him here for when the baby comes, and afterwards. Two under two sounds really intimidating to handle by myself. I'll pull through though I'm sure. I might have some bald patches, but I'll be ok. ;)

24 weeks already! Time really is flying in this pregnancy. I can hardly believe that in just over 3 months, there will be another little person added to our family. I'm sad though that it's going by so fast because this will probably be our last baby. As much as I can't wait to meet my little one, I'm really enjoying the expanding belly, big boobs, and those wonderful baby kicks, pokes and punches. I had my 24 week appointment yesterday, and I'm only up 2 pounds from my starting weight. I lost 4, gained it back, and I was up 2 pounds from my 20 week appt. BP was still a little high, but it hasn't jumped up from it's normal high range. Since Leonard is working out of town, my Dr said that if I don't go into labor by 38 weeks or so, then we'll induce by 39 weeks so Leonard can be there for the birth. I don't want to induce, so I really hope that Leonard will be working locally by then. I wasn't able to schedule my next u/s to check on the placenta position. I'm bummed out about that. My Dr wants to have the tech get a really good look at this baby's facial structure just to make sure that we're not going to be dealing with another cleft palate on top of the other problems that could come along with it. So we'll probably kill two birds with one stone and look at both when my Dr figures out when the best time gestationally it will be to look at the face and jaw on this baby. I didn't get to find out the sex at my last u/s, so I was really hoping that I don't have to wait until the baby is born to find out. I can handle having to wait until 30 weeks, but I don't want to wait any longer than that.

I'll also post a new belly pic!
